As you know, a tremendous amount of legislation has been introduced in the last year that could affect all of us.  Two important people associated with this legislation, Congressman Gary Miler and Congressman Barney Frank are invited guest speakers.  Don’t miss this opportunity to see them in person and hear what they have to say.

Educational opportunities abound!  Members get the education for free subject to a $20 supply fee per class (with full registration).  It doesn’t get any cheaper than that!  Use the education towards your certification or Lending Seal of Integrity requirements (mandatory January 1, 2009 for all members.)

New for this year: a one-day mini symposium on commercial topics to give you the knowledge you need for this type of lending.

Of course, you won’t want to miss the trade show that has over 100 vendors you can meet in person and network with.

AK AMB is involved in professional certification and consumer education. We need you. In the next few months, legislation may be introduced to license mortgage brokers and originators. We want you to be pro-actively involved with us to make sure this legislation is fair to everyone involved-especially to the professionals in our industry. Also within the next few months, consumers throughout Alaska will begin to see anti-predatory lending commercials, sponsored by Freddie Mac and the Alaska Predatory Lending Task Force, of which we're also a member.
